Corner Childcare Centre opened its doors on Monday 13th October 2008.
We
have charitable status as a not-for-profit organisation in the
voluntary sector. In the past we had a voluntary group 2
mornings a week for 26 years. The mums asked if we could open full
time to enable them to keep the children with us.
We started on the road of applying for grants and awards to enable us to bring our building up-to-date and furnish it to the required standard to gain Care Commission Registration. We now have a reputation for providing a high quality of child care that parents are demanding. Coconut Corner has places for 66 children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. This comprises 6 babies, 20 toddlers or pre-school children and 40 out of school care places. We recognise that childcare is an expensive business, and sometimes it's easier to rely on the goodwill of Grandparents or friends than to use childcare options. Parents often find it difficult to continue their own lives; perhaps working or further education. That is why we have set our prices as low as we can, as we are not interested in making a profit. Our aim is affordable, quality childcare. We even have our own 'partnership' discount where children who are over 3 can get 2 1/2 hours free for every full day they attend. We accept all childcare vouchers and have flexible payment schemes to assist those who cannot pay a full months fees up front. Why not call in to see us? service for children with additional support
needs and have trained staff for children on the autistic spectrum.
Our sensory suite is primarily for this purpose. We
have our own cook
who prepares all our healthy meals. We are a Smile Nursery working with the NHS community oral Nursery Nurse. |
