Coconut Corner Childcare Centre opened its doors on Monday 13th October 2008. We have charitable status as a not-for-profit organisation in the voluntary sector. In the past we had a voluntary group 2 mornings a week for 26 years. The mums asked if we could open full time to enable them to keep the children with us.
We started on the long hard road of applying for grants and awards to enable us to bring our building up-to-date and furnish it to the required standard to gain Care Commission Registration. We now have a reputation for providing a high quality of child care that parents are demanding.

Coconut Corner has places for 66 children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.  This comprises 6 babies, 20 toddlers and 40 out of school care places.

Why not call in to see us? No appointment is necessary as you are always welcome to drop by and have a look around. Use the contact us page to get in touch.

We have an integrated service for children with additional support needs and have trained staff for children on the autistic spectrum.
Our sensory suite is primarily for this purpose.

We have our own cook who prepares all our healthy meals.

Press:
"Years ago kids were able to play outside as their parents did the housework and if something cropped up a neighbour would look after them until the parents returned.
Unfortunately now the climate has changed and parents are basically scared to leave their children with others unqualified as they never know what might happen. It is a sad reflection on society that this is the case but fortunately help is at hand in the Coconut Corner Childcare Centre based in Church Street Baillieston. Here kids from as young as 6 weeks right up to just ready for primary school age are able to relax, play, and get a terrific grounding by expert experienced staff who love their work. Led by Ruth Ramsay who has over 25 years of nursery and childcare training the Coconut Corner Childcare Centre has recently become a paradise for children and their parents. Trust is essential in childcare and Ruth and her fully qualified staff certainly have the trust of the clients who leave their children in this excellently kitted out facility.
From the Early Years Room which caters for children aged 6 months to 2 years right through to the Pre-School Room for kids 2 years old up to primary school starting age the centre is paradise. Toys and educational aids are in abundance coupled with a terrific sense of social skills taught by the dedicated staff are exactly what begins to forge the kids into children to be proud of in later years. Not only does the Coconut Corner Centre encourage play they also encourage relaxation and to this end £8000 has been granted to enable them to install Sensory Equipment within the secure premises close to Baillieston Main Street and this helps the children who require additional support. Out of School Care is also high on the list of activities at the centre and with a catchment area which takes in all the local primary schools i.e. Swinton, St. Bridget's, Garrowhill, Caledonia and St. Francis of Assisi it is ideally situated with the added bonus of escorts ensuring the kids reach the centre under supervision. Service days, holidays etc. are also covered removing the worry some parents may be confronted with. Things are certainly happening at the Coconut Corner Childcare Centre so if you are in need of childcare for your little ones why not contact Ruth on 07830 206 348 she'll be delighted to explain all about the centre in more detail."
