Our
pre-school
room provides a warm, spacious and fun packed environment
for all our energetic and exploring toddlers. At this stage, activities
will become more structured than before. The children will follow a
daily routine which incorporates opportunities to enhance learning
skills. Areas in this room are divided to offer opportunities for wet
and dry play. Ratios in this room are 1 to 5 for children under 3 years
and 1 to 8 for children over 3 years. Our staff work to the
Curriculum for Excellence which includes "messy" play such as
painting, glueing, drawing, sand and water. Other areas provide a large
selection of construction toys, jigsaws, dressing up, home corner etc.
Having stories and song time using our piano in the playroom is great
fun too.
The physical development needs of a toddler are
provided for through play opportunities both indoors in our main hall
which is 75ft x 25ft using our Yamaha clavinova (music and movement)
and outdoors
(running, jumping, ride-on cars, chutes and climbing frames) in our own
garden. Our children can perform on our stage to a capacity audience
of 140.
