Welcome to the website of the Social Work
Christian Fellowship
A membership organisation for Christians in Social Work,
Care,
Action and Training
SWCF is the national organisation for Christians who
work in a wide
variety of social work, social care, social action and student
settings. Formed in 1964, SWCF provides professional and spiritual
support to its members, through national and local events.
It is interdenominational and affiliated to the
Evangelical Alliance
and organisations with similar aims. SWCF seeks to develop
Biblical thinking, challenge secular assumptions, and promote Christian
perspectives in policy-making and practice.
SWCF is not a grant-making charity and does not employ
staff.
Our Aims
- To encourage and strengthen Christians working
in social work and
social care settings to integrate their personal faith with their
professional practice
- To share in the mission of the wider church as
a witness to Jesus
Christ
- To encourage Biblical reflection on social
issues, social work
theory and practice
- To encourage and provide mentoring support to
Christians
undergoing training in social work, social care and social welfare
- To attract membership participation through
events, publications,
prayer and fellowship
